Since its opening in 1954 Kossuth Klub has been a major forum for cultural production and exchange. It disseminates diverse forms of human knowledge from the sciences and humanities to the arts, and it promotes extracurricular education through its Open University Project. It aims to provide opportunities for public debate on academic, artistic and political issues. In recent years these programs have been expanded to include traditional music, theater, visual arts, science, community-building and civic activities. Kossuth Klub pursues high professional and cultural standards through its cooperation with NGOs representing the best traditions of Hungarian scientific and cultural life.
